Oh, hai
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

I’m still here, despite no evidence to the contrary. I realized this evening that I haven’t posted in awhile. Amazing how time just vanishes.

Today is debut book sale day for fellow

  members,

  and

 .

Mark Henry’s first book, Happy Hour of the Damned and Anton’s Dead to Me both sound fabulous and right up my reading alley. I’m looking forward to both books!

The parental units sent me a care package of goodies from the Latin Market in San Antonio. Much with the yumminess! Some turron, some coconut macaroons and 2 cans of Nescafe Cafe con Leche. About as close to Cuban food I’m going to get for a while.

I recently started reading Unquiet Dreams, Mark del Franco’s (

) sequel to Unshapely Things (which I loved). My only beef: not having time enough to read. I adore his characters and wish I could just ignore my work and my writing and just hunker down and read all the way through. If you’ve read the first book, it’s the current pick/discussion over at the League of Reluctant Adults.

Time: something most authors have little of and want desperately – maybe someday, I’ll get some back so I can do things like watch Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles and get to finish books I adore. In the meantime, I leave you all to it…whatever it might be.

Postscript: Damn it, I keep losing my wireless connection. ARRGH!

ETA: Does John de Lancie ever play a good guy? (random thought while watching SG1 season 5×03 Ascension)

I just started Unquiet Dreams a couple of nights ago! The first night I stayed up until almost midnight because I couldn’t stop reading!

I also picked up Madhouse by Rob Thurman, which I’m looking forward to.

And I just finished Flesh and Spirit by Carol Berg which I quite enjoyed. There’s a sequel, Blood and (Something), that I just reserved at the library.

Ooh, I got to hang out with Carol a lot at World Fantasy! She’s a really nifty person and I’m looking forward to reading her stuff, too.

Speaking of Rob T, I need to order Madhouse. ::makes note to self::

Vaguely interesting note: I picked up Mark’s first book at Pandemonium when I was in Boston last year for Muskrat Jamboree.

Aaaaand… now it’s off to bed to read more Unquiet Dreams before bed. (hmmm, it occurs to me that there may be a flaw in this plan)

Coconut macaroons? I didn’t know it was legal to post food. Any chance of posting some to Australia, or will Customs confiscate macaroons because they’re yummy? ;-)

    Have a lovely day! :-)

Dead to Me is totally worth reading if only for the titles of the fliers distributed by the Department of Extraordinary Affairs! :: snerk ::

Nice to see you having a moment to breathe / post!
