Saturday, August 13th, 2005

Sacrifice to the travel gods made? Check. (flight delayed 2 hours because of weather in NJ; I missed ALL of SciFi Friday)

Homage to the cats o’the house? Check. (They remember me.)

Prep for day of fannish squee? Check. (I am wearing my “Joss Whedon is my master now t-shirt.)

Bring on the Mounties, the vampires, the fannish goodness. (Avoiding SG1, SGA and BSG spoilers, however.)

Catch you all on the flip side!

Again with the hurrying and the behind

Finally caught up reading LJ last night.

Belated birthday greetings to arallara, wickedwords, katallison (I’m sure I missed someone – if so, please please forgive me!!)

Happy ON TIME birthday to heuradys!

I’m off to Mahwah (via Newark airport) this evening for fannish squee weekend and serious girly downtime. May sporadically check via D’s computer, but I am not taking the laptop. (gulp)
::chickwriter has withdrawal pangs::

I’ve got 4 books packed in the bag, should weather deteriorate and I get stuck on the tarmac like last year.
* Gil’s All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez
* Visions of Death by J.D. Robb
* Volume 3 of Yami No Matsuei (English translation)
* Live Bait by P.J. Tracy

I’m also bringing the Cascade Con DVDs for viewing.

Updates on stuff

Great Big Squee
Wednesday, August 10th, 2005

So last night, bheerfan, beledibabe, her hubby, katyabaturinsky and M and I all went to Wolf Trap for the Great Big Sea concert.

All I can say, is Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Had a blast!

Loved the guys. Renewed my utter crush on Alan Doyle (see icon).
uhm, bheerfan – I *know* you can do better… ::g::

So psyched to hear that they have a new album coming out in October – all traditional Newfie songs.

This weekend, I’m NJ bound for DS and other fannish squee with D and the gang.

No news on the medical front. Still waiting for labs. Spent all of today in Bethesda at monthly client meeting. Fun, but tiring. TGIW!!

In the meantime, I’m trying to just stay positive. (the concert helped IMMENSELY!) – how can you not be uplifted by GBS?

Just some stuff

Firstly – a most happy day to bethbethbeth – a great teller of tales! May your day be most excellent!!

I’m at home now, because of medical stuff. For details:

Cut for medical stuff

Decisions
Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005

Because I so can’t make up my mind.

Scenario: Chickwriter got a gift certificate to Amazon.com for referring a new employee. It’s for $250. (whee!!)

Thing is, I’m totally waffling over what to spend the money on. I don’t buy books here, because I prefer to buy from my indy sources.

So….POLL!!!!

ETA: Uhm, it occurred to me that this is a bit greedy of me to gloat, especially after the new car and the fact that so many of my friends have $$ issues, so, ignore this if you want. I really just want some decent advice.

::chickwriter feels guilty::
