So, with my RL work kicking my ass and the overall stressful ickiness, I totally did NOT realize why this was whomping me like a certain willow.

Between that and allergy hell, no wonder all I wanted to do this weekend was to crawl into bed and read.
Thanks to beledibabe, I know that the pollen counts are astronomical. My eyes are like nasty itchy things. Normally, I take OTC Claritin D sparingly – maybe once a month or so. I’ve been forced to take it for the last several days.
In any case, this enforced cocooning has had one specific effect. I’m now reading SGA fic. Yeah, well…like it’s a surprise!
I did rent the pilot from Netflix and enjoyed it, so now I guess I’ll need to buy the S1 DVDs when they’re released. Damn you all. ::g::
Are SGA repeats being shown on SciFi at this point. Anyone?
I’m also considering renting the SG1 DVDs, because I’ve only seen the original movie and the pilot of the show. Never got into it, but I’m such a ‘ho for canon background. I tend to need to see the source material, even if it’s not great (ahem, the Sentinel)
You see, this is what is so seductive about a new fandom. DVDs to watch! New background info to find out! Shiny new fic!!

On that note, and because my stoopid eyes aren’t cooperating, I’m going back to reading. Seems I’m okay reading a book, but not staring at a screen.

SciFi’s going to run a marathon of SGA the week of July 4th–I forget what day exactly. I think they’re going to run every episode, or at the very least most of them.

So the marathon of SGA is next Friday, 7/8, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (and then they’ll repeat the last 4 eps again from 10 to 2 a.m.). They’re showing most of the eps, although they’re skipping Hide and Seek, Home, The Defiant One, Hot Zone, and Sanctuary, which is a shame, as those are all critical eps for McKay/Sheppard fans. Leave it to SciFi to skip all the good slash fodder.

And you’re of course invited over to watch my DVD copies of SGA anytime you’d like — I’ve got all the eps, and would certainly love to have an excuse to wallow in the shiny once again. (I’m happy to loan you all of SG-1 on DVD too, although it sounds like you’re covered on that front.) There is lots of good (albeit generally fairly short) fic coming out of SGA these days, so I think you’ll enjoy the sandbox.
